Sketching Tour

ARTivating the Ravine was an event sponsored by a TD bank "park people" grant. A couple of neighbours and I submitted an application that would bring neighbours into the nearby ravine to learn something new and enjoy the fresh air. We couldn't have asked for better weather.

 

Details on the drawings

Sketchbooks and materials were provided thanks to the grant. I gave the viewership 3 prompts.

1. Draw the details (veins, texture etc) on a single leaf, petal, seed or twig

2. Draw a single tree, flower, or stone

3. Draw a landscape that includes sky, far away trees, and something in the foreground (close-up)

I encouraged them to use any of the drawing tools we brought in or to rub dandelion or other leaves into the paper for natural colour.
